Game Contribution Percentages: Which Games Count Towards Wagering (and by How Much)
A 10x requirement can quietly become 100x if you play the wrong game. Here is how contribution tables work and the slots that are often weighted down or excluded.

Every bonus comes with a contribution table, and it decides how much play a requirement really needs. The multiplier is capped at 10x in the UK; the contribution table is not.
A typical contribution table
| Game type | Typical contribution |
|---|---|
| Most video slots | 100% |
| Scratchcards, instant wins | 100% (sometimes 0%) |
| Selected high-RTP or low-volatility slots | 0–20% |
| Roulette, baccarat | 10–20% |
| Blackjack, video poker | 5–10% |
| Live dealer games | 0–10% |
Tables vary by operator. Some set everything except slots to 0%. Always read the actual list.
The weighting trap
Games that give the player the best odds are the ones casinos least want used to clear bonuses. Slots such as Blood Suckers (98% RTP), 1429 Uncharted Seas, Jackpot 6000 and several Mega Joker-style classics are routinely excluded or weighted at 10–20%. Playing them "because the RTP is high" can mean your bets do not count at all, and at some sites it is treated as a breach of terms.
Effective wagering
Effective stake required = Stake required ÷ Contribution.
A £50 bonus at 10x is £500 of play on a 100% slot. On roulette at 10% it is £5,000. The expected cost scales with it: at a 2.7% house edge on European roulette, £5,000 of play costs about £135, nearly three times the bonus. Live blackjack at 0% never clears the requirement at all.
How to use the table
- Find the game you actually enjoy and read its percentage.
- If it is below 100%, divide the requirement by that percentage to see the real play needed.
- If it is excluded, either play something else for the bonus or decline the bonus and play with cash.
- Check whether bets placed on excluded games while a bonus is active are void. Some terms say so.

Frequently asked questions
Do table games count towards wagering?
Usually only partly. Roulette and baccarat are commonly 10–20%, blackjack 5–10%, and some casinos set live dealer games to 0%. Check the contribution table in the bonus terms.
Why are some high-RTP slots excluded from bonuses?
Because at 98–99% RTP a 10x requirement would cost the casino very little. Titles such as Blood Suckers, 1429 Uncharted Seas and Jackpot 6000 are frequently excluded or weighted at 10–20%.
How do I calculate effective wagering?
Divide the stake required by the game's contribution. A £500 requirement on a game at 20% needs £2,500 of bets. The expected cost rises in proportion.
Does the UK 10x cap change contribution rules?
No. The cap limits the multiplier on bonus funds. Operators can still weight games differently, so the effective requirement on low-contribution games remains higher.
